Just having a quick read up about front splitters, ideally they should be about twice as long as the ride height of the car to be effective. Just wanted to start an aero thread to try and pull together everyone's findings on what aero actually works - both on road and on track. The tall ones don't have to bend down to reach through the window in order to hand you the infringement notice he wrote after nailing you coming off a passing lane.Quote from: m1tch on September 2, 2019, 14:54Hi all, It also makes it easier for police officers to ticket you. The ability to take the roof off and cruise on a dry summers day regardless of the daily struggles makes the feature all worth-while for me! You can hammer it on the open northland roads, engine behind you roaring as you rip up the hills and nothing to stop that pop and crackle on the over-run reaching your ear drums on the way back down. In the weekends, it all pays off! You can take away that towel you keep on the drivers seat in the "drip spot" because it's sunny now! You can take the roof off and cruise through the city. ![]() The sensation of driving this car never gets old, wet or dry. But once I get on the open road (and I'm fortunate enough to have open road on my way to work) I just don't care anymore. If I don't remember, I get a few wake-up drips on the forearm and right shoulder on the way down the driveway to remind me how inconvenient my roof is. If I remember, I'll lift the roof and wipe the seal. Once I break that window seal, she's all over. I let it idle away warming up as I use a squeegee to scrape the morning dew off of the roof and windows before I get in. I wake up in the morning, rush out of the house to start my car for the morning drive to work. Some people definitely see it as a downside and for fair reasons, but they've got far more pros to the amount of cons I find. In my honest opinion, I prefer the targa top MR2 over the hard top MR2. like your sound system being soaked from having a TT.įeel free to butt in if you're an MR-S or one of the few with a convertible SW20 (if there are any in NZ). So what are your reasons for wanting what you want? Maybe you have a past experience you want to share. ![]() Unless they have a rare supra, or a 300zx, or a crx del sol, or another car that does have it. It's not just another generic Japanese sports car (not that it is anyway), something you can say you have that another car driver won't. Looks great having the light come in from the top with them still on. Helped being stiffer than a TT) But now that I have my 2nd mr2, which has all the interior pieces and a sound system, I find the targa better (not that I've really been able to use it.) It's more of a cruiser to me, so who cares if it leaks sometimes, or it's heavier, or not as strong, I can take it for a nice summer cruise and not bake in the car. I stripped it out and had it as a semi lightway track toy. So be it if those are the reasons you prefer which one, but I want it to be why we're all here, which is for the enjoyment of the car. However I don't want you guys to talk about factual reasons, such as hardtops being lighter and stronger and less leaky. I want to see you keyboard warriors have rage filled rants at each other over what is better. ![]() This includes going back one page of 10 posts for the same text.
